The veteran singer/songwriter and producer's first album for New West Records, So There is a collection of originals that Folds recorded with New York City-based classical sextet yMusic. While the arrangements are certainly ornate, with instrumentation that includes piano, cello, viola, violin, flute, piccolo, alto flute, trumpet, French horn, clarinet, and bass clarinet, Folds insists that "the arrangements you will hear on this record are straight-up rock -- not ornamentation."
