Synopsis: Tecmo's trap-setting strategy title Deception IV: Blood Ties gets updated with a new heroine, new traps, and dozens of new quests in The Nightmare Princess. Gamers take on the role of Velguirie, the daughter of the devil, as she and her demons attempt to lure human victims into a castle to torture, humiliate, and slaughter them and collect their souls. The new Quest mode lets players unlock new traps by strategically placing more than 180 pitfalls around a variety of stage grids, each with unique features and terrain, and then activating the traps at the proper time.


The demons specialize in different traps, with Veruza focusing on the sadistic torment of spikes, saws, and axes, Caelea enamored with elaborate deaths and complicated machinery, and Lilia a fan of banana peels, falling bathtubs, and humiliating demise. Gamers strategically place their traps in each stage before taking control of Velguirie and using her as bait to lure attackers, or letting her physically attack intruders.
