Synopsis: God of War: Ghost of Sparta is an original combat action game that follows a story steeped in classic Greek mythology. The grim warrior hero Kratos returns to PlayStation Portable for a violent single-player adventure that explores the dark shadows of his mortal past. Kratos' journey reveals pivotal events, and offers glimpses at the history of the scars and tattoos he has borne since his first appearance in the PlayStation 2's original God of War.


As in earlier games, the demigod hero battles his way past mythological monsters and overwhelming forces of undead warriors, in a darkly imagined realm of ancient legends. The fighting action flows quickly, with Kratos' weapons extending to strike enemies at a distance as well as those in reach. New weapons and abilities in the game allow Kratos to pound enemies into the ground or throw them across the screen. Powerful new supernatural opponents and gargantuan boss enemies test the limits of these powers.


Other game sequences present environmental puzzles that challenge the hero to find his way through complex labyrinths and confusing traps. The combat, action, and puzzle solving are tied together with a storyline that has Kratos questing to finally find resolution for the dreams of his gruesome past, which continue to haunt him even on Mount Olympus.
