Synopsis: Like the original 3DS XL, the New Nintendo 3DS XL sports a clamshell design with dual displays, a touch pad, directional pad, Circle Pad, microphone, 3D camera, 3D depth slider, wireless connectivity, and internal gyroscope and accelerometer for motion-based gaming. New features over previous 3DS' include a faster processor, near-field communication reader for built-in amiibo support, and face tracking 3D that adjusts the 3D effect based on the user's viewing angle. More controls are available as well with the addition of a C Stick, ZL button, and ZR button.


Both the original 3DS XL and the new edition share the same screen specifications. The top display screen features 24-bit color, an 800 x 240 resolution (or 400 x 240 for each eye), and is 4.88 inches diagonal. Packaged with the handheld are six AR cards, a stylus, and a 4GB microSDHC memory card. An AC adapter required to recharge the system's battery is sold separately. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
