Synopsis: Inspired by Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. franchise, Sony mines its own expansive vault of characters to let up to four players compete in classic brawls in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Gamers take control of iconic Sony characters like Kratos, Sackboy, Nathan Drake, and Sly Cooper, as well as third-party characters like BioShock's Big Daddy and Dante from Devil May Cry, and engage in a variety of single- and multiplayer game modes. Characters have dozens of special moves, and collecting power orbs lets them use three levels of super moves.


The main single-player mode pits players against a random collection of foes, then a character-specific rival battle, and eventually culminates in a fight with the long-lost PlayStation mascot Polygon Man, while the Challenge mode asks gamers to complete a series of specific objectives. There are 14 arenas in all, each based on locations from two different game franchises, and each featuring special items and weapons associated with those games. Multiplayer fans can join friends for timed matches, competitions to get the most kills, and battles to be the last one standing, and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale supports cross-platform play, so PS3 and Vita gamers can fight one another.
